Teens in grades 6-12 can learn to code their own video games with Game Maker Studio, free software that can use at home long after the class. Game Maker Studio offers a transition for those accustomed to visual programming environments like Scratch to text-based languages like Python, C++ and more. Game Maker Studio is free and can be installed on Windows computers. Presented by Gigalearn, LLC.  Students should bring a flash drive to save their games.

2017-09-23 Scottish Folk Trio---North Sea Gas

This highly entertaining folk trio, on tour direct from Scotland, will perform their brand of traditional, contemporary and self-penned material. A wide range of musical instruments will be featured including guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, bodhran, whistles and banjo as well as their tremendous three-part harmonies. Students can find out where they stand without having to pay for an actual college admissions exam.  They will take a practice test under testing conditions, get a feel for the endurance needed and receive score reports highlighting their strengths and areas of focus.  Please bring a caculator and pencils.

Accomplished French acoustic guitarist Claude Bourbon is known throughout Europe and America for his breathtaking guitar performances, labeled by Charlottesville, Virginia’s The Hook as “almost indescribable.” Born in France and based in the United Kingdom, Bourbon grew up in Switzerland, where he was classically trained. He has performed and studied all over the world, crafting a fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk.
